When the Giant of Town Takes a Fall

Who could have known all the pain I would feel
As he stumbled and fell from the sky
Who would have thought such a blow it would deal
As he landed from falling so high
Who would have thought that hed leave such a dent
He was only a man after all
But I was amazed at the tremors it sent
When the giant of town took a fall

Who could have known all the lives itd affect
All the dreams that would fall with the man
Who would have guessed that hed dive in effect
As the stuff made its way to the fan
Who could have imagined the mountains itd make
When Babe wrestled roughly with Paul
But faults will collide and foundations will shake
When the giant of town takes a fall

Who would have thought that so many would see
As he slipped and went tumbling down
Who would have guessed the whole kingdom would be
Selling popcorn and gathered around
Who would have thought that the papers would come
In response to anonymous calls
But I guess its a story for page number one
When the giant of town takes a fall

Wholl ever know all the tears that were cried
All the sorrows for letting them down
Who could have heard the heart breaking inside
Overpowered by the crash on the ground
Wholl ever know that a giant could feel
So ashamed and incredibly small
And waiting he wonders if wounds ever heal
When the giant of town takes a fall
