I Miss You Most in Moments

I miss you in the morning
When she takes me for the day
And keeps me late for meetings
When I just canít break away

I miss you more at lunchtime
When I go on dates with her
But I miss you most in moments
When I see the way we were

I miss you on the weekend
When we run from here to there
And give our time to lovers
For whom weíve never cared

I miss you in the minutes
When I find my schedule free
But I miss you most on evenings
When youíre lying next to me

Contact without touching
And sleep without the rest
Sharing air between us
But not each otherís breath

Knowing that you love me
And having you so near
I never miss you more than
I miss you when youíre here

I miss you in the winter
When he woos you for a while
With words of whispered wanting
Full of gall and guiltless guile

I miss you in the springtime
When the world begins anew
But I miss you most in moments
When I wish that we could too

I miss you in the summer
When waken hours are long
And sunshine seems to linger
Its courtship to prolong

I miss you in the autumn
When winterís in the air
But I miss you most severely
In seasons that we share

Love without affection
And dreams without the drive
Sharing life between us
But not each otherís lives

Knowing that I love you
And having you so near
I never miss you more than
I miss you when youíre here
