Nothing Leaves the Rock

From just a few yards away
The lights cluster
Into an enormous honeycomb
Full of the pure sweetness of life
The view of a God
An unframed work of art
Stretching endlessly
And nothing leaves the rock
Hearts are exchanged
Without the loss of blood
The warm, red drink of life is shared
Without the use of blades
The words are often silent
Singing in harmony with the comfort of the wind
Silent, delicate, desperate, and determined
And nothing leaves the rock
No Boy Scout could untie
The knot of lives entranced
In the cool of the darkened air
No evil could invade
The oneness that evolves
On the unmarred page of love
A covenant is made
An eternity is paved
And everything leaves the rock
