The Benefits of Illiteracy

Literature has become a zebra
Don't laugh; it has
Black and white
Merging into a jagged
But, oh so defined line
There is no gray
No in between
Just a pin-pointed
Exactness
Between light and dark
Good and evil
A zoo full of zebras
No elephants binding it all together
No parrots ushering in excitement and vibrance
Please don't feed the animals
It's making them sick
Hippos are repulsive
Let's remove them from the shelf
Eagles are extinct
Everyone's afraid of bears
Zebras only zebras
The pattern may be different
But the colors are the same
Please don't feed the zebras
They may maintain their white
Preventing the blackened stallion to emerge
Smaller
Without the glory
Only the whining "Nay"
