Therefore I Am
I ceased to be the other day
When a thought I thought got caught away
And left me thoughtless for---I'd say
At least a moment anyway
They say that thinking one becomes
That thought is that that matters once
The matter of one's matter's done
And one begins to be begun
And if that's true I wonder then
Do existent instants tend to end
When thinking thins and blanks begin
To block the thought from minds of men
Do misty moments void of thought
Suggest unless a thought is sought
The thoughtless thinker fades to naught
And withers wayward lot by lot
Or is the saying simply that
A pithy myth with iffy fact
Extracting that that is abstract
To actuate awaiting acts
