Capturing a moment
Is difficult to do
A childhood seems a futile quest
For molding all the memories
Of growing up into
Four stanzas seems impossible at best

Capturing emotion
Is difficult to do
A heart-full seems a most illusive task
For fitting all the feelings
I've felt for you into
Four paragraphs is just too much to ask

I guess that means I'm foolish
For writing as I do
Chasing whims with nothing more than words
With little hope of finding
Those pure and precious few
Without them sounding awkward and absurd

Capturing a lifetime
Is difficult to do
Especially one that's been as full as mine
But still I feel this yearning
To illustrate to you
The person you've created over time
