Aluminum
They say it's aluminum
But I have to disagree
It's more like tungsten-carbide
Or titanium to me
They call it aluminum
But I don't think that it's true
The feelings that I feel today
Are platinum for you
I refuse to acknowledge
The makers of years
Authority on emblems
Of time
I don't have to celebrate
Foil-flimsy smears
Or apply the descriptions
Assigned
Who are they to decide
What we call what we've made
Or determine the symbol
Of us
Their logos can't capture
The unyielding braid
Of friendship, and passion
And trust
So it may be aluminum
To those who make decrees
But you and I will always be
A diamond to me
